T-Boz’s statement on Instagram about health issues
TLC’s Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins is setting the record straight after rumors surfaced about her health following a recent hospitalization. The 54-year-old singer took to Instagram to address the situation after she was forced to cancel several shows, sparking speculation.
In a candid video, T-Boz expressed her frustration with the detailed information that was shared publicly, saying, “I would have never put my business out there like that, but I guess because I missed shows it had to be said. I just don’t think it should have been so detailed because I don’t like people in my business—and I don’t like all this attention.”
She went on to clarify that her hospitalization had nothing to do with constipation or the popular weight-loss drug Ozempic, dismissing the rumors as “disheartening.” “No, I’m not on Ozempic. Everybody and every celeb ain’t on Ozempic,” she said, addressing the misconceptions.
T-Boz explained that her health issue was related to scar tissue from a surgery she had 24 years ago. “It was scar tissue. It had nothing to do with what I ate or the inside of my intestines. It was the outside,” she shared, adding that the condition could affect any woman who has had a C-section, fibroid cysts, or abdominal surgery.
The statement from TLC’s official Instagram revealed that Watkins experienced “sudden and severe nausea, vomiting, and intense abdominal cramps” after their performance in Toledo, Ohio. She was diagnosed with an “abdominal blockage,” unrelated to food poisoning or her previous sickle cell diagnosis.
T-Boz emphasized that her recent health scare had nothing to do with sickle cell disease, expressing frustration with the assumption that every health issue she faces is related to the condition. “Everything that happens to me does not have to do with sickle cell,” she added.
Reassuring her fans, T-Boz noted that she was already back at work just three days after her hospitalization and looks forward to seeing everyone at the rescheduled shows. In her caption, she thanked her supporters and took a moment to call out the “new doctors” diagnosing her from afar. “ONLY BECAUSE IT’S OUT THERE… THANK YOU FOR ALL THE LOVE AND CONCERN! I APPRECIATE YOU ALL!!!” she wrote, adding, “I’ll see y’all soon at the rescheduled shows… I’m doing great and blessed!!!”
Stay tuned for more updates as T-Boz continues to recover and prepare for her upcoming performances.
