A source close to the situation told PEOPLE on August 22 that Lopez and Affleck had genuine intentions when they decided to rekindle their relationship. The source emphasized that they “truly loved each other” and that their reunion was both swift and passionate. However, the source pointed out that Lopez and Affleck are “very different people,” which may have contributed to their separation.
